Hey everyone,

I would love it if you could take a look at my new Patreon! I'm trying to support myself as a writer and game maker.

Thanks for taking a look!

Hi everyone!

So I'm in the last week of the first semester of grad school. I'm engaged to my boyfriend of six years. I joined the 21st century on Wednesday and got an iphone (if you'd like the number, you can contact me). I am working as the Managing Editor of Matrix Magazine, and if all goes as planned, I'm starting a pilot project with the TAG/hexagram people at Concordia. I also now own the most adorable crested gecko - her name is Likki and she's very silly.

Hai guys!

There's a lot going on in this next little while for me - my birthday is coming up, some contest deadlines for school are coming up, and so is ice-diving...So you probably won't hear from me too often. I'm also graduating in the spring and will be applying for another program - I've already applied to the creative writing Masters at my school. Who knows? I might even get in or get a "real" job.

I have three resolutions this year: write more, play Wii fit every day (and expend 455 calories on it), and take pictures of/scan my art. That last one is the toughest. Especially since I tend to give my art away, and never have time to take pictures. So I think that means I'm just going to take less nice pictures of them, and enlist help in taking pictures of them. Especially since I have art from last year that's 1.5 x 1 meters big. I gave my teacher what he considered my best piece though. I have the one I like the best on the wall in our living room.

Also, I'm not sure what I should put up here. I still take a lot of pictures, but I don't tend to put them through any photoshopping right now so they're just the raws. Also, I got a silkscreening kit and have made two designs so far.

I guess the main thing is taking pictures of those huge ass drawings.

I'll try and be better!

Oh - and one more thing: should I put my writing up here?

Hi everyone,

So I put up a few artistic or especially nice shots here, culled from my flickr account here:… in turn culled from the many shots I took while I was there. The flickr account is worth a viewing for more shots of the people I had on the trip with me, crocodiles, etc. And there are good shots I didn't put up in either place that are just your standard vacation shots.

EDIT: Some choice underwater photos here:… Some were uploaded to dA as well!

I had a great time in Cuba. Expect to be seeing some not-as-good fish shots taken with a camera-mask from snorkelling.

The scuba diving in Santa Lucia was incredible. It was amazing. And it wasn't too expensive either. Tony, our guide, was a pretty cool guy. I saw nearly all the fish off the Cuban fish chart they had at the dive shop, as well as a lot of species that weren't Cuban and weren't on the charts! The "Shark's Friend" dive shop is awesome.

It was my first ocean diving and my brother's first diving period - he's bitten - I think he's going to get his certification.

We did three dives with the same guide. We saw three wrecks and a ton of fish inhabiting them. Tonito brought bread to one of our dives on a little tugboat sunk about ten years ago. The fish swarmed us - it was awesome.

We snorkelled on the second largest barrier reef in the world, as well as just off the beach near a red buoy. We fed the fish some seaweed and got nibbled by them, and were able to pet them.

The species I saw include but are not limited to: a green moray eel, a young nurse shark, yellow sting rays, a southern sting ray, and an eagle ray, as well as a longspine squirrelfish, blue runners, a huge Cubera snapper, trumpet fish, yellow tail snappers galore, a lane snapper, a white grunt, a bunch of french grunts, bluestriped grunts, foureye butterfly fish, blue chromis, a million sergeant majors, dusky damselfish, yellow tail damselfish, yellowhead wrasse, some friendly bluehead wrasse, striped parrotfish, princess parrotfish, stoplight parrotfish, great barracudas (at least two), blue tangs, lionfish, and a bunch of others that I don't know the name of, including a kind of spider crab that danced on my hands, and a purple and white cephalopod thing that we touched and it began to uncurl - it was basically a ball of tentacles.

I also went to a crocodile farm, a violin factory, witnessed a Santeria ceremony, saw an old Sugar Mill, went to a rum factory, a Revolution Square, and Camaguey City.

I'm leaving to go to Cuba for a week to-day! I'm afraid of having a horrible holiday. Isn't that bad? I haven't even left yet.

See you in a week.

Hi everyone - the last day of CEGEP and Vanier has come and gone. I'm going to Cuba on the 21st, and Tobermory in July. I'm going to Honours in English and Creative Writing at Concordia in the fall.

First 14 watchers to comment on this journal, requesting a slot, will get 3 pieces from their gallery featured by me. I will choose the pieces I like best.
In return, those Deviants featured will have to create their own Feature Journal, placing me in the first slot; leading to a total of 15 Featured Deviants.

Hi everyone,

I was accepted this morning into the Honours in English and Creative Writing program at Concordia! Holy WOW!

UPDATE: Oh, and there is a notorious amount of backlogging on my part - my art is now too big to scan, so I have to go through the extra process of picture taking. Augh. There are a buttload of drawings to scan from drawing II -- where we work in 1.5 m x 1 m. There are paintings from Open Studio. And pictures!

I have a new 50 mm lens for my Rebel XTi.
Dear Seraphinx:

I don't really know how to tell you this, but I dislike you. I think I realized it that night in your closet and I saw you put leeches on Manchester United's goalkeeper. I'm sure you're man enough to understand that I get turned on by garbage men. I'm returning your memories from the military service to you, but I'll keep the results of your blood sample as a memory. You should also know that I told in my confession today about Oprah Winfrey imitations.

Greetings to your frog Leonard,

Dear imaginary people of dA who read my journal,

I have a good 20 or so prints (photos) that need scanning to be uploaded here, and three times that number of digital photos that need to be cropped and uploaded. I have pictures to take of sculptures to show you. I have a portfolio to build.

But I can't seem to find the time...But it's on its way! eventually...I also need a scanner that can scan 16x20 photo paper...there's probably one at school, the end. (Eventually I will need to buy one...I like working that big.)

In the meantime, I will tide you over with this single fibre print of Tom's face.

Okay, so a few things.

Our anniversary was nice but there wasn't time to go to the teahouse, so we're going today, and we missed The Mikado because of traffic and us being stuck in a taxi. We missed it by so little - a real shame. It made me sad.

Tom gave me some excellent presents: a thermal cup, chocolates, a super-soft teddy, a picture frame with a photo of us in it, and a dozen balloons - each balloon had inside something about me that he liked, and I got to pop 'em all.

Now then...other than that...

I've decided to sell prints. There are a few up now, such as…

The 4x6 prints are uber-cheap! If there are any requests or there's anything already in my gallery that you'd like a print of, please note me or e-mail me. Visit the "shop" here:
  • Listening to: Queen - You're My Best Friend
  • Reading: Cervantes' Don Quixote
  • Watching: Smallville
  • Playing: Final Fantasy XII
  • Eating: Caik?
  • Drinking: Nah.
In the news:

Our first year anniversary (Tom and I) is this Thursday. Hurrah for happy love!

Now then...the question. I'm eighteen now, and that means I can make prints. Should I bother? Price suggestions? Piece suggestions? What would you like a print of?

It's my birthday today!

The plan is to go sledding in the morning, then to watch movies/play video games in the afternoon, then have cake and presents and pizza, then more games/movies/hangin' out.
Christmas is fast approaching. End of term is here! So now I'm getting grades in. So far, it looks like I did well.

I failed NaNoWriMo - and I finally developped my pictures from the summer. They rock socks~ I hope I won't be too lazy to scan the best ones.

Tom and I did a lot of shopping together this year, and are bringing presents to our homedogs. Hopefully we can find the last few things we  need before time runs out!

Then, after Christmas, Tom is going away to the Dominican Republic for a week...then we ish going to a wedding with his parents. I was invited for some reason.

Happy Holidays.
NaNoWriMo starts today. I've got my quota for the day but I'm planning on continuing so that I've got a head start.
Heya, there, much like other people, I am prepared to feature people in my journal since I was featured. However, since I don't usually get many replies to my journals anyway, I am willing to feature three people to start. If afterwards there are more people who are interested, I'll put moar spots.

The rules...(stolen from :iconshinigami714: )

Check the list of comments first, then sound off with your number. For example: "I'm #4, I'd like to be featured please."

I'll be picking my favourites from your gallery and saying a bit about your art and maybe you.

By participating you agree to feature other deviants in some way.

1. :iconpeace-love-art: does a lot of really bright art that really "pops" - a good deal of it is very stylized - fun to look at. Here are three pieces that I enjoy:

- Subway Graffiti:…

- Coffee Woman:…

Not a fair trade comment at all, but simply love of coffee.

- Little Yellow Radio:…

A vector piece - I love the brightness.

2. :iconaiylah: is still working out her own style and improving her skills with mainly pencil work. Gettin' better all the time!

- Flower:…

Abstract? Not really - but I could see it printed on a tile or something. Like the colours and the sort of "whispyness" to it.

- Colours:…

If this had crisper edges and whiter whites, then imagine how streamlined it would look. As it stands, the colours blend together wonderfully in the middle.

- Perfect Storm…

A gorgeous blend of colours. Love to look at the clouds, where they meet. way too blery easy.

I've started at Vanier in Communications. After IB, this is a joke. I got two papers back today - 5/5 and 4.5/5. They were introductory assignments.

I've met a lot of nice people and so far my humanities class and my photo class seem like they'll be the most challenging. Good God, we're doing grammar in English! -________________-

My drawing class is stupid and boring and we're drawing plants! I hope to God that changes soon.

It's been a very long time since I've written a journal, and heck, I haven't even done that much art lately. My apologies.

Let's other news...

Tom and I are still together, and I'm very happy.

I have a job as a peer tutor at school, for English. I've yet to meet my tutee because there was a mix-up about the time today.

I saw Wolf Parade in concert, and I loved them. So much. Oh, and I  got pictures, some of which are upload-worthy, but I want to draw before I just keep filling my gallery with photos, though for sure once I print some of my photos from photo class, there will be some.

I can't think of much else to say...
