Hi everyone,

So I put up a few artistic or especially nice shots here, culled from my flickr account here: [link] in turn culled from the many shots I took while I was there. The flickr account is worth a viewing for more shots of the people I had on the trip with me, crocodiles, etc. And there are good shots I didn't put up in either place that are just your standard vacation shots.

EDIT: Some choice underwater photos here: [link] Some were uploaded to dA as well!

I had a great time in Cuba. Expect to be seeing some not-as-good fish shots taken with a camera-mask from snorkelling.

The scuba diving in Santa Lucia was incredible. It was amazing. And it wasn't too expensive either. Tony, our guide, was a pretty cool guy. I saw nearly all the fish off the Cuban fish chart they had at the dive shop, as well as a lot of species that weren't Cuban and weren't on the charts! The "Shark's Friend" dive shop is awesome.

It was my first ocean diving and my brother's first diving period - he's bitten - I think he's going to get his certification.

We did three dives with the same guide. We saw three wrecks and a ton of fish inhabiting them. Tonito brought bread to one of our dives on a little tugboat sunk about ten years ago. The fish swarmed us - it was awesome.

We snorkelled on the second largest barrier reef in the world, as well as just off the beach near a red buoy. We fed the fish some seaweed and got nibbled by them, and were able to pet them.

The species I saw include but are not limited to: a green moray eel, a young nurse shark, yellow sting rays, a southern sting ray, and an eagle ray, as well as a longspine squirrelfish, blue runners, a huge Cubera snapper, trumpet fish, yellow tail snappers galore, a lane snapper, a white grunt, a bunch of french grunts, bluestriped grunts, foureye butterfly fish, blue chromis, a million sergeant majors, dusky damselfish, yellow tail damselfish, yellowhead wrasse, some friendly bluehead wrasse, striped parrotfish, princess parrotfish, stoplight parrotfish, great barracudas (at least two), blue tangs, lionfish, and a bunch of others that I don't know the name of, including a kind of spider crab that danced on my hands, and a purple and white cephalopod thing that we touched and it began to uncurl - it was basically a ball of tentacles.

I also went to a crocodile farm, a violin factory, witnessed a Santeria ceremony, saw an old Sugar Mill, went to a rum factory, a Revolution Square, and Camaguey City.
